The Savage Background Leader Bar is a two-piece aluminum bar that quickly and easily attaches to the bottom edge of paper, vinyl, and cloth backgrounds. The weight of the leader bar reduces ripples and draping, prevents curling, and helps position the background for a perfect sweep.
All single Background Leader Bars include a free roll of #01 Super White Seamless Background Paper. Color substitutions are not available. The 3-pack does not include a roll of seamless paper.

The Background Leader Bar can be used on seamless paper backdrops but it also works great for vinyl and cloth backdrops!
Unfortunately, we do not allow color substitutes for the seamless paper that comes with the Leader Bar.

We do not currently offer an 86″ wide leader bar, however the 107″ leader bar can accommodate the 86″ seamless paper. You will need to make sure your shooting space is wide enough to allow the 107″ leader bar.
Yes. We recommend using a fine-tooth metal saw to trim the Leader Bar to a custom length. Check for the location of internal spring-clips prior to cutting. Use a file to remove any burrs from the cut edge. (product modifications void warrantee)

This leader bar is wonderful! It was easy to install, just open clamp, insert paper end, and reclamp. It does take two people because the paper is so wide and has to be aligned properly.

Like it much better than the spring clamps I’ve used for years to weight the end of the paper.
Installation on the 107″ is painful by yourself though. I set up multiple shop tables and pulled the paper to lay flat on that. Takes 1/2 hour of fiddling.
Highly recommend having a helper or two.

Makes switching backdrops so much faster and cleaner, especially when you don’t have an assistant and you are trying to work quickly. You know your backdrop or sweep is going to be pulled evenly every time too!

You might think these are too pricey and not worth the expense, but they are really a must-have accessory. I initially tried using several clamps to weight the end of the rolls, but that was a mess. The leader bars keep the backdrops hanging nice, even, wrinkle-free and easy to deal with. Unfortunately, there is no option for the 86″ rolls, but I found the 107″ bars could be cut down to size using a non-ferrous saw blade that left a cut clean enough so that the end caps could be re-installed. Definitely worth it!

If you own a single seamless of any size…. you NEED leader bars! They just make everything so much easier and clean. Perfect weight!
