New 2020 grip gear includes multiple C-stand designs, a rolling stand base, light diffuser holder and double column stand, all with patent pending features.
Chandler, AZ (January 6, 2020) — Savage Universal, worldwide leader in backgrounds and photographic products, is very pleased to introduce a line of grip equipment for professional production crews in the film, video and photo markets.
Professional grips need heavy-duty stands they can drag through the mud and put to the test. With a patent pending junior receiver on the Savage C-Stand leg that allows a user to mount multiple lights or modifiers from one stand, set up closer to a corner than ever before, or level the stand on stairs or uneven terrain, Savage now offers a full suite of production solutions to make life on set a little bit easier.
The Savage C-Stand is the first available with a Rocky Mountain leg and turtle base combination. The leg leveler enables the stand to be positioned safely on stairs or uneven surfaces, which is an important feature for on-location crews. The removable base with female junior receiver lets a user mount a light or other equipment ultra-low to the ground, another feature useful for optimizing gear in compact spaces.
Mount multiple lights or modifiers with the two 40” (102cm) and 20” (51cm) included risers from one stand to maximize output with less equipment in the way. Or, transfer a riser to the junior receiver on the leg to set up the stand snugly in a corner.
The Savage C-Stand will be available in stainless steel and black coated stainless steel to protect from rust. Product variations also include 20” (51cm) or 40” (102cm) sizes, a kit with a 40” (102cm) steel grip arm and two gobo head clamps as well as individual parts sold separately.
Other patent pending grip items include the Savage V-Hold for Light Modifiers, a V-shaped holder that pulls light modifiers or diffusion sheets taut in front of a light source without casting shadows or obstructing the light spread, and the Savage Double Column Stand, an easily maneuverable stand that can act as a boom holder with a low center or gravity, or hang backgrounds and light modifiers from a very safe and stable base. A Rolling Base with two junior receivers provides a rolling platform for C-stand risers, or a low base for mounting multiple lights or accessories. The center receiver creates maximum stability while the outside receiver can be used to roll lights flush to the wall. Extendable legs make it a very stable stand for mounting equipment with an off-center weight.
“We believe our expansion into production solutions for film, broadcast and video markets is a natural extension of our photographic product base, and we look forward to continuing our focus on innovation and bringing quality gear at affordable prices to even greater audiences.” said Executive VP/COO, Rich Reiser.
