Is there anything better than a senior dog? I really don’t think so! That’s why I wanted to hold a two-day fundraiser for Lionel’s Legacy Senior Dog Rescue in San Diego, CA this holiday season. A local dog goods boutique, Muttropolis Solana Beach, was kind enough to host us for the event.
Lionel’s Legacy held an adoption event outside in the front courtyard while I was set up inside. Families and dogs were invited to participate in 15-minute sessions. Half of the session fee and a portion of my sales went straight to Lionel’s. Muttropolis was also kind enough to donate a portion of their weekend sales to the rescue! Not only did Lionel’s Legacy receive an adoption application for one of their pups as a direct result of the event, but we also had nine families participate in the fundraiser and together raised over $600 for the senior dogs!
For the photos, I wanted to keep my backdrop clean and simple so they could be enjoyed by the participants long after the holidays. I chose a 107” Savage Soft Gray Seamless Paper and it was absolutely perfect. I love that it’s not a harsh bright white but rather gives a soft feel to the photos while still allowing the subjects to stand out. We had dogs, kids, and adults running and playing on the paper and it held up great for all nine families.
I love Savage paper and I love how dedicated they are to the photographers involved in animal rescue! Thank you, Savage, for your support!
