Every client has a number in mind. If you ask them how much they want to spend, they will say they don’t know. They know. If you say “six thousand dollars,” they might recoil in horror. If you then say “three thousand dollars” and they don’t, you can then start to zero in on what that number looks like and from there you can explain options to them.
Photographing weddings as a part time job can’t be beat. You keep your day job and work on weekends. You receive money for making pictures, you get to go to a party, and you get fed and for the most part, people are on their best behavior. It’s a challenging workday to be sure, but armed with great preparation and the right equipment you can’t help but be a winner at it!
