I had my All-American Pet Photo Day mini sessions this weekend with the Savage Whitewash Floor Drop. It was INCREDIBLE! The print hid the dirt and proved to be a HUGE time-saver in post-production — no cleaning up dirty floors!
A big part of my life’s work is to put some good back into the world. Being an animal photographer and animal-adoption advocate, I naturally gravitate toward wanting to help shelters and rescues. On the most basic level, you can volunteer at the shelter or foster for the rescue but as business owners, we have a really unique opportunity to do even more good! Here are a few really simple ways YOU can make a difference!
If you love animals as much as I do, you want to see every single one of them find a loving forever home. Sometimes an animal will come into a rescue or shelter and find a home immediately but sometimes they’re not so lucky. A great way to help homeless pets is to donate your time and talent to an animal rescue or shelter to photograph their adoptable animals.
I got involved with Aztec Doberman Rescue in San Diego, CA in 2010 and we recently worked to put together a fundraising event in which people would get really excited to participate. We decided to hold special 30-minute sessions in my studio and donate a big portion of each session fee to Aztec. For the studio setup, I used Savage’s Chestnut Seamless Paper.
